This amazing Pangolin was released on the Big Cave property by Kevin Wilson. We were so excited about it, as have only ever seen one on the property previously, although we have always known they are around!

The Matobo Hills, Zimbabwe's ancient landscape full of mystery and fascination is Zimbabwe's largest World Heritage Site, in excess of 3,000 km2 and is the country's only UNESCO Cultural Landscape Site. The route has been carefully selected to incorporate many features of, and places of special interest within, the Matobo Hills. We have been given permission to cycle through the Matobo Game Park - home to Zimbabwe's largest white rhino population! The route also goes through the Matobo National Park and it gives you some great cycling. Big Cave Camp is set in an incredible location- Matobo Hills in Zimbabwe. Classic Safari Camps of Africa look into its vastness, diversity and mystical allure in their blog:
http://www.classicsafaricamps.com/blog/2015/03/amidst-a-captivating-zimbabwean-landscape-big-cave-camp/ This was the best stay on our tour in Zimbabwe. The location is great and nothing that u imagine. The rooms beautiful, the view unbelievable and the staff so friendly, helpful and always there for you. It is so individual and you can do so many activities. We had a perfect stay with lovely guests and Lynn, the manager organized a candle light dinner on leopard rock....it was perfect and the moon was shinning so bright. Thanks, thanks thanks. If you are looking for something special, big cave camp is the place to be. Also Shepard organized the best game drivers, walk or rhino tracking....he will not stop before you are satisfied ;-)))
Nothing is quite so ‘Safari' as the traditional ‘bush dinner', and certainly everyone that has been to a safari lodge has had the pleasure of this experience at some time or another. But have you ever had a Full Moon Dinner? Big Cave Camp is excited to introduce their Full Moon Dinner, where guests, perched on massive, million year old granite rocks, will enjoy this unique experience. Dinner is cooked on a blazing BBQ braai, and is accompanied by a wide range of salads, baked potatoes, sadza and gravy and garlic bread, followed by a mouth watering dessert. All this under the full moon, with breathtaking moonlit views across the spectacular Matobo National Park.
Contact us to enquire about the dates of the next Full Moon. A superbly beautiful site in the Matopos. Friendly efficient staff who cater for your every request. Fabulous sunset on Lightening Rock and bush breakfast never to be forgotten. A pristine collection of rock paintings that are easily accessed on a morning guided walk. Splash in the rock pool to cool off at the end of a warm day. End off a relaxing day around a boma fire into the night. What a great experience! Room Tip: All good with great views. " Big Cave Camp lies back, well camouflaged on top of the rocks overlooking its National Park. It’s a lot like its resident leopards in that way." Read more about them both in our blog this week.
